With blades of this caliber, it's possible to get excellent results with one blade on most cuts and materials. Savvy owners swear by the DW7657's performance, including many who have also used the famous top rated Forrest WWII 40T blade, which is well known as an industry icon. The DW7657 is uncannily similar in design to the WWII, (C4 micrograin carbide tipped teeth, alternating top bevel grind, aggressive 20 degree hook angle, superior construction quality) and delivers predictably similar results...clean, smooth, polished cuts on a wide variety of materials and thicknesses. I'm a staunch supporter of the venerable Forrest blade, but am extremely impressed with the DW. Woodworking magazines have done comparison tests between the DW7657 and the WWII and found the 7657 delivers remarkeably similar performance to the Forrest at close to half the cost. I agree with their findings and so do many others who've tried both blades. If you balk at spending $100 on a saw blade, give serious consideration to this worthy contender from DeWalt. Over the years I've gotten pretty spoiled with some excellent blades. IMHO this one deserves a place along side the elite 40T general purpose blades from Forrest WWII, Ridge Carbide TS2000, Tenryu Gold Medal, and Freud F410. Edit: Note that the former top shelf DeWalt series 60 is now available as the Delta Industrial line. Just substitute the "DW" prefix with a "35-", ie: the former DW7657 is now the Delta 35-7657.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.A solid purchaseBy M. McBrideI purchased the DW7657 for use with a 3HP cabinet saw for furnature quality woodworking. My choice was motivated by reviews and advice that compared this blade to the well-known Woodworker II blade. While, I have not conducted any side-by-side tests to evaluate the DW7657 against other products, I have logged several hours of use with various hardwoods, sheet goods, and some softwood materials. The quality of cut is excellent. Saw marks have been completely non-existant in crosscutting and about 97% non-existant during ripping. To be fair, occassions where I have had slight marks or burning during ripping could also be attributed to issues with technique or set up.The DW7657 is plain looking with little aestetic features, but the carbide is clean and the teeth are uniform. I have had no issues with chips or imbalance or any kind.Considering the price of the DW7657 is approximately half that of comparable name brand blades, I can not imagine where the additional expence would provide additional value to my woodworking. However, I have only owned my DW7657 for 3 months and can do not yet have a basis to evaluate it for longevity or 'blade life'.In short, I am happy with the purchase and would recommend it to others.~MichaelSee all 2 customer reviews...
