This Heavy duty aluminum LED flashlight from Dewalt puts out 80 lumens. A lumen is a unit of standard measurement used to describe the total light output of the flashlight. For example, a dinner candle provides about 12 lumens. In comparison, this Dewalt 3AAA flashlight provides 77 lumens.  All Dewalt flashlights are tested by an independent laboratory for the most precise measurement available. This flashlight has both a flood and spot beam combined for more versatility. The flood beam pattern simulates normal daylight conditions to take advantage of peripheral vision. The spot beam pattern creates a narrow, powerful beam of light for pinpointing distant areas. This flashlight uses an LED (Light Emitting Diode) system which is a solid-state semiconductor that converts electrical energy directly into and intense, high quality light. Able to run for very long periods of time on very little power providing extra cost savings. LEDs have greater resistance to shock or vibration damage and do not have a filament that will burn out.
